Whether you consider yourself a foodie or not, food is part of your daily routine. And, food has a way of bringing people together - so this time we got together a small team from the IT department at DEUTSCHE BANK for a virtual cook along session. Some team members were outside London because of COVID but some other are always based in other countries (US -New York and Germany -Frankfurt). Our Vietnamese themed virtual cook along session was the perfect occasion to bring people together again.
Who says only women can cook? Food Has No Gender
Historically, food preparation was assigned to women and it was strongly linked to female gender roles and identity. Fortunately, mentalities are evolving and more people are considering cooking as a basic life skill and not a gender role. Women belong to the kitchen and so do men. It makes me so happy when I see more men than women attending my cooking classes. That has been the case when I organise events for CISCO and DEUTSCHE BANK.
“Cooking is an expression that crosses boundaries.”

Many of us have traveled and tasted the world’s cuisine while watching Anthony Bourdain’s NoReservations or Parts Unknown or Peter Maneas' show My Greek Odyssey, which surely makes you want to book a culinary vacation in Greece. Keeping in mind all the current travel restrictions, the next best thing is to learn how to cook mouthwatering dishes from around the world and know more about the local culture and how it influenced the cuisine.
This cook along session wasn't just another cooking class. We aim to incorporate sustainable cooking practices and traditions to offer exciting plant-based culinary experiences infused with a mixture of our unique Asian and world flavours. Every aspect of our business is carried out with the environment and the well-being of our clients in mind.
What did we cook?
Crispy Spring Rolls - A delicious dish made with ingredients are relatively simple and easy to find in any grocery store. This dish, paired with a dipping sauce, is a great appetizer and it's such a crowd pleaser.
Rice Noodles Salad with Lemongrass Tofu - The perfect salad to welcome Spring. It's fresh, green, and filled with contrasting textures and flavors, exactly what Vietnamese cuisine is!
Mango Coconut Tapioca Pearls - Rich coconut milk and the small tapioca pearls topped with fresh mangoes that can be enjoyed cold or warm. My mouth waters just thinking about this dish!
Cooking Together....Reconnecting with old friends.... Making New Friends....Fun Filled ....Mouthwatering Food....Out of the Box Experience.. In a nutshell, that's what our session for Deutsche Bank was all about!
